We collect a variety of information from or about you or your devices, as described below. If you do not provide information when requested, you may not be able to use the Services if that information is necessary to provide the Services or if we are legally required to collect it.
Application and Profile Information. If you apply to volunteer, we may receive personal information including but not limited to your first and last name, address, email address, time zone, university, graduation year, majors and concentrations, experience as a developer, international student status, first-generation college student status, low-income student status, school organizations and affiliations, volunteer interests, gender, ethnicity, age, location (at the continent level), the contents of your resume and application essay, and other information you provide as part of your application.
If you apply to be a mentor, we may receive personal information including but not limited to your first and last name, email address, company, position/title, and other information you choose to provide.
If you propose a project as a nonprofit, we may receive personal information including but not limited to your first and last name, address, email address, the name, size, annual budget, and nonprofit status of your organization, and other information that you provide about the proposed project.
Payment Information. When you make a donation, we use PayPal to collect and process your payment. To process the donation, we may ask you for your PayPal username and phone number to verify your account.
Communications. If you contact us directly, we may receive additional information about you. For example, if you contact us through our website, we may receive your first and last name, email address, the contents of a message or attachments that you may send to us, and other information you choose to provide. If you sign up to receive emails or information from us or respond to our annual surveys, then we may collect certain information from you, such as your first and last name, email address, your areas of interest, and other information you choose to provide. When we send you emails, we may track whether you open them to learn how to deliver a better experience and improve the Services.
Careers. If you decide that you wish to apply for a job with us, you may submit your contact information and your resume via online form or email. We will collect the information you choose to provide on your resume, such as your education and employment experience.
Device Information. We receive information about the device and software you use to access the Services, including internet protocol (“IP”) address, web browser type, operating system version, internet traffic data, service usage data, and unique device identifiers.
